What Sodium bicarbonate, sodium citrate is used for:
- It is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:
- Discomfort in urinary tract infections
- Urine alkalization
- Bladder inflammation
- Treatment of urinary bladder calculi
- Acidity in the blood
- Cystitis
- Heart burn
- Kidney problems
- Gastric lavage in methanol poisoning
- Antiscorbutic
- Antiseptic
- Anticoagulation
- Metabolic acidosis
- Osmotic laxative
- Anaesthesia for caesarian section procedures
Do not take Sodium bicarbonate, sodium citrate if:
- Acute dehydration
- Allergic reactions
- Congestive heart failure
- Decreased amount of urine or no urine
- Difficulty in respiration
- Fluid retention
- Heat cramps
- Hyperkalemia
- Hypertension
- Hypersensitivity to active ingredients
Warnings & Precautions:
- Use with caution if:
- You have low urine output, abnormal renal function, cardiac failure or hypertension
- You have peripheral or pulmonary edema
Possible Side Effects:
- Headache
- Upset stomach
- Muscle pain

- It may interact with the following drugs and products:
- Aluminium hydroxide
- Aspirin
- Barbiturates
- Lithium
- Memantine
- Oxide
- Prednisone
- Quinidine
- Salicylates
How to take Sodium bicarbonate, sodium citrate:
- Adult: the recommended dose is 1-2 sachets 4 times daily for 5 days
- Take by diluting in water
- Take it after meals
- Avoid contact with eyes
- Do not exceed the amount prescribed
How to store Sodium bicarbonate, sodium citrate:
- Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
- Store medicines at room temperature, away from heat and direct light.
- Do not freeze.
- Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them into drainage unless instructed to do so.
